Welcome to the Hot Sand Stained Glass Website!
Stained Glass has been my passion for over ten years. After learning the technique of stained glass from an artist in Tucson, Arizona, I returned to my hometown of Omaha, Nebraska, where I opened my own business, Painted Light Stained Glass.
In Omaha, I created custom windows, repaired windows and taught classes for six years. In 2002, the opportunity arose to move to Costa Rica. After living in Costa Rica for three years, I opened Hot Sand Stained Glass in Puerto Jimenez - a small town on the Osa Peninsula.
My studio is one block off main street and often I will look up and see through my windows scarlet macaws flying by, iguanas in the trees or a horse and cart trotting along the unpaved road.
When I am not working with glass in my studio, I am with my husband helping him manage the non profit foundation O2 For Life. The foundation's 750 acre reserve is 45 minutes by boat from Puerto Jimenez. The lush vegetation and abundant animal life give me great inspiration. It is truly where the rainforest meets the ocean and is one of the most beautiful places on earth. Check us out at www.o2forlife.org!
